The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf has won 2013 Myrtle Beach “Course of the Year”, from a vote of the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association membership at the July meeting. In August The Dye Course has added onto the prestige, being named the 2013 SC Golf Course of the Year by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association Board of Directors.
The Dye Course is one of four courses that were opened simultaneously on April 13, 2000. This is the only time a developer has opened four new courses at the same time in the United States. For the past 11 years the Dye Club has been the host site of the Monday after the Masters Tournament, the largest single day charity golf tournament in South Carolina.
The Dye Course is a Pete Dye layout of 7,343 yards that has regularly been named one of the nation’s “Top 100 Courses” by Golf Magazine, Golf Digest and Golfweek. Most recently, the SC Golf Course Ratings Panel ranked it on there “Best You Can Play on Grand Strand” list in 2013.
