Many Philadelphia fans showed up Sunday to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles as they took down the Denver Broncos this past weekend. The Resort Restaurant was a sea of midnight green and E-A-G-L-E-S chants could be heard throughout the entire clubhouse. NFL Specials are taking place every Sunday now through the end of December. With $1.50 domestic drafts, $3.00 domestic mugs, $2.25 house vodkas and ½ priced appetizers (dine-in-only) every Sunday is special at the Resort Clubhouse.
It was all spooky sounds, creepy cuisine and frightening fun at the Boos & Booze Halloween Happy Hour on October 27th. Most Resort Members didn’t dare to be caught dead without a costume on Friday night. From scary to silly to supernatural, the crowd’s costumes were nothing short of BOO-tiful and FANG-tastic.
Back by popular demand, DJ Butch had all the spirits in attendance materializing on the dance floor – both ghosts and ghouls boogied down to popular spooky soundtracks. Barefoot Resort would like to recognize Mr. & Mrs. Anderson’s creativity and also congratulate them on taking home the 2017 costume contest’s top prize.

Congrats to Resort Member, Mr. Edward Hamilton, for his hole-in-one on number 8 of Fazio! Talk about a SPOOKtacular day!
The only way for one to truly describe Barefoot’s 2017 Oktoberfest Party is “dancing, drinking and dining.” With music by DJ Joe Durivage, lots of steins and jägerschnitzel, Oktoberfest was certainly NOT the würst party ever. Barefoot’s banquet hall was festooned with the Bavarian blue and white, as well as traditional alpine hats for guests to take home as a souvenir.
The spread was a traditional fare of German potato salad, cabbage & kielbasa, jägerschnitzel, in addition to the German Chocolate Cake, which paired perfectly with the special German beer Warsteiner. If the premium pilsner did not tickle your taste buds, an Oktoberfest Shandy and domestic draft mugs were also on special for the faux folk festival.
On Thursday, September 28th, thirty-two ladies took to the Norman course to play for the 2017 BLGA Solheim Cup Title. Contested by two teams of sixteen women, representing Europe and the United States, this year’s competition was certainly fiercer than ever before – with just a single point determining the 2017 Solheim Cup Winners! Team USA came out on top with a score of 108 ½ to Team Europe’s 107 ½ total points.
Barefoot Resort & Golf would like to congratulate all of those who participated in the 2017 BLGA Solheim Cup, especially the following winners:

With one of the largest turnouts in tournament history of 48 teams (96 individuals), the 2017 Member-Guest got off to a perfect start on September 1st with the Love Course hosting the first round of competition. The Member-Guest format was comparable to last year with two-person teams competing in five nine-hole matches with an alternate shot shoot-out on the final afternoon to determine the overall champions. The overall winners for the 2017 Member Guest tournament were Tom McDowell and Steve Weeks, two familiar faces as they previously won the title in 2015. Coming in second place, by one point, were George Mullany and Bryan Bark followed by Dave Janicki and Larry Ubaldini for third place. Flight winners included Tom Bauder and Stan Lepkowski – Berger; Tim Larkin and Xavier Hartsoe – Koepka; Tony Rossi and Bill Brauer – Rahm; Dave Janicki and Larry Ubaldini – Fowler; Billy White and Larry Wells – Johnson; Tom McDowell and Steve Weeks – Speith; Ed Dorward and Jim Fronzoni – Thomas; George Mullany and Bryan Bark – Matsuyama. Following the banquet on the final day of the tournament, competition prizes along with raffle prizes were handed out to the lucky winners. With all of the positive feedback from the participants in this year’s Member-Guest Tournament, Barefoot Resort and Golf would like to thank all of the competitors and look forward to next year’s event.
