Dave Genevro
General Manager – Barefoot Resort and The Dye Club
Dave is originally from the small town of Brockport, Pennsylvania. He has been with Barefoot since its inception, starting as one of the original golf professionals and has worked his way into the position of General Manager. His passion for playing golf has evolved into a dedication to offering a great golf experience and customer service levels well above the guests expectations. Dave and his staff are always striving to improve in all aspects of the golf operation.
Travis Dutcher
PGA – Head Golf Professional -The Dye Club
Travis is originally from Edmeston, a small town in central New York. After high school he attended Southern Vermont College where he played both basketball and baseball. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2004, and moved to Myrtle Beach shortly after. He attended the San Diego Golf Academy, (Golf Academy of America), Myrtle Beach campus and upon completion in December of 2005, with a degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management he started employment at Barefoot Resort in February of 2006. While at Barefoot, Travis started in the outside operations and worked his way up to the Head Golf Professional. He was elected as a PGA Class “A” member of the PGA of America in July of 2013.
Travis moved from the Resort to become the Head Golf Professional at the Dye Club in May of 2016 where he is working on becoming a Certified Professional and eventually a Master Professional. He continually strives to make the Dye Club one of the best Semi-Private clubs on the southeast coast.
James Gillespie
PGA – Head Golf Professional – Norman/Love/Fazio
James Gillespie is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is a graduate from The Golf Academy of America and was the Valedictorian of his class in 2010. He also holds a Liberal Arts Degree from West Chester University and a Masters of Business Administration from Penn State. He joined the Barefoot family in 2011 and became a PGA Member in 2021.
Wes Nelson
Membership Director
Barefoot Resort – Wes is originally from Greensboro, NC but has lived in the Myrtle Beach area for over 27 years. From an early age, Wes realized his passion for the game of golf and has enjoyed pursuing the sport over the years. His interest not only with golf, but also with the tourism industry, led him to pursue a career within the field. In 2010, Wes graduated from Coastal Carolina University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Resort Tourism Management. Upon joining the Barefoot Resort staff in 2011, Wes has acquired experience and strengthened skills through the involvement in a variety of areas including reservations, accounting, and membership. As the Membership Director, Wes is able to combine his enjoyment for golf along with his dedication to provide excellent customer service and develop lasting relationships.
