Barefoot Resort & Golf is back in full swing following the historic rainfall felt
throughout the entire state of South Carolina.
Barefoot Resort & Golf has resumed normal operations following the 1,000 year storm that wreaked havoc throughout the Myrtle Beach area and beyond. The Resort alone received upwards of 20 inches of rain, amassed over a four-day period between October 1 and October 5.
During the course of the storm, all three resort courses and The Dye Course were opened for play with the exception of Saturday and Monday when we received the majority of the rain. Both the Resort and The Dye Clubhouse restaurants remained opened for breakfast and lunch, as with the pro shops to take care of members and guests. Most of our guests who were in town for the week on golf packages were able to move around there tee times during the breaks in weather. Following the conclusion of rain that ended early Monday morning, our superintendents and maintenance crew were out in full force to get the golf courses playable again. By Tuesday we were able to re-open the Love course and the following day had all four in operation. The entire Barefoot staff worked swiftly to ensure the golf facilities were back open for play as quickly as humanly possible.
Dave Genevro, General Manager of Barefoot Resort & Golf and The Dye Club stated,
“We were very fortunate to have come through this storm in incredible shape, bearing in mind the amount of rain we experienced over a 72 hour span. The entire staff of Barefoot Resort & Golf rose to the occasion and went above and beyond of what is expected of them. They took care of our members and guests and ensured we got the resort back to a normal state for our future guests. The golf course superintendents and maintenance staff have and are continuing to do a countless job in getting the courses back to their normal state. We have been ecstatic to hear the feedback from our members and guests who have played the golf courses since the storm. A lot of them boasted that they couldn’t even tell that two weeks ago we had 20+ inches of rain on the ground! We want to thank all of our members, friends and followers who gave us the willpower to face adversity head-on and come out triumphant.”
The entire Barefoot Team is committed to maintain the golf courses and adjoining facilities to the highest of standards and provide a quality staff to create a relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
