The putting green at the Barefoot Resort Courses closed this past June through August and underwent a complete rebuild which included; new drainage and irrigation, fresh base soil, new grass and complete re-contouring of the entire surface.
Due to the large amount of foot traffic it endures each year, management felt it was time to expand. The putting green at Barefoot Resort was severely undersized and simply could not handle the demand of our members and guests. The green facilitates the three resort courses; Norman, Love and Fazio.
With the added square footage, it was necessary to renew and install new drainage lines in addition to more irrigation lines to better service the entire area. The old green was a modest 9000 sq. feet. The new green is now a whopping fill ½ acre in size. The grounds crew added gentle undulations to better replicate actual course slopes.
This green renovation now provides our patrons with a surface that produces a wide array of putts including: variable breaking putts, uphill and downhill putts. Guests are welcome to practice before or after their round.
