THE LOVE COURSE

AT BAREFOOT RESORT

Carolina native, Davis Love III embraces a tradition of Lowcountry character in his latest design. The Love course incorporates the recreated ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3-7. Wide open fairways and generous landing areas set the stage for an unforgettable round of golf.

The Love Course at Barefoot Resort is a traditional course with a Lowcountry character and incorporates Davis Love III’s Carolina golfing experiences in the design. This visually striking course features course generous landing areas and green complexes similar to those found on Pinehurst #2, which has hosted more single golf championships than any golf course in America. The Love Course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards. The course will challenge the good player, yet provide playability and enjoyment for the average player.

Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif-sport Bermuda grass. The greens surfaces are newly acquired Champion UltraDwarf and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass.

Love Enterprises and Associates, Inc., is a golf course design and construction management company with a firm commitment to preserving the land in its natural state by designing a course that will compliment the existing terrain.

The company, based in St. Simons Island, Ga., has a design team filled with experience. Davis Love III, Mark Love, Paul Cowley and Bob Spence combine their experience to create courses that blend naturally with the land.

Davis Love III brings celebrity stature and golf expertise to their team. As one of the PGA Tours most successful players, he has won six tournaments including The Players Championship, MCI Heritage Classic, the Freeport MacMoRan Classic, the Buick Invitational, the Buick Challenge and in 1997, the PGA Championship.

Having played great golf courses all over the world, Love has been exposed to every type of golf course architecture. He has been a serious student of the game all his life and has definite ideas about what makes a golf course great.Save
