Dave Genevro

General Manager – Barefoot Resort and The Dye Club

Dave is originally from the small town of Brockport, Pennsylvania. He has been with Barefoot since its inception, starting as one of the original golf professionals and has worked his way into the position of General Manager. His passion for playing golf has evolved into a dedication to offering a great golf experience and customer service levels well above the guests expectations. Dave and his staff are always striving to improve in all aspects of the golf operation.

Travis Dutcher

PGA – Head Golf Professional -The Dye Club

Travis is originally from Edmeston, a small town in central New York.  After high school he attended Southern Vermont College where he played both basketball and baseball.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2004, and moved to Myrtle Beach shortly after.  He attended the San Diego Golf Academy, (Golf Academy of America), Myrtle Beach campus and upon completion in December of 2005, with a degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management he started employment at Barefoot Resort in February of 2006.  While at Barefoot, Travis started in the outside operations and worked his way up to the Head Golf Professional.  He was elected as a PGA Class “A” member of the PGA of America in July of 2013.

Travis moved from the Resort to become the Head Golf Professional at the Dye Club in May of 2016 where he is working on becoming a Certified Professional and eventually a Master Professional.  He continually strives to make the Dye Club one of the best Semi-Private clubs on the southeast coast.

James Gillespie

Head Golf Professional – Norman/Love/Fazio 

James Gillespie is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba and has 15 years playing golf experience. James is a graduate from The Golf Academy of America, being the Valedictorian of his class in 2010. He also holds a Liberal Arts Degree from West Chester University and a Masters of Business Administration from Penn State. A 4.0 Hdcp player with a complete understanding of golf swing fundamentals.

James is currently working towards his Class A membership within the PGA. His hobbies include sports, going to the beach, and just hanging out.

Wes Nelson

Membership Director

Barefoot Resort – Wes is originally from Greensboro, NC but has lived in the Myrtle Beach area for over 27 years. From an early age, Wes realized his passion for the game of golf and has enjoyed pursuing the sport over the years. His interest not only with golf, but also with the tourism industry, led him to pursue a career within the field. In 2010, Wes graduated from Coastal Carolina University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Resort Tourism Management. Upon joining the Barefoot Resort staff in 2011, Wes has acquired experience and strengthened skills through the involvement in a variety of areas including reservations, accounting, and membership. As the Membership Director, Wes is able to combine his enjoyment for golf along with his dedication to provide excellent customer service and develop lasting relationships.

Trey Evans

First Assistant Golf Professional/Marketing Director

Trey is originally from Summerville, SC. He attended Summerville High School where he excelled in baseball as well as academics. Upon graduating high school, he attended Coastal Carolina University where he walked onto the baseball team. He graduated from CCU with a business degree in finance and marketing. His excitement for learning something new and the joy of competition is what drove him to get into the golf business.

Sean Reardon

Assistant Golf Professional/Merchandise Director- PGA Apprentice

Sean is originally from Lancaster, PA. He grew up playing all sports and loved to compete. He excelled in soccer before turning his attention to golf. A few years after high school, Sean decided to pursue golf as a career. He graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Phoenix with a degree in Golf Operations and Management. Upon graduating, Sean accepted a position at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. He worked there for 3 years and was a shift supervisor for the outside service staff. Sean joined our staff in March of 2016 and is excited to be a part of this great team.

Dan Lorig

Assistant Golf Professional/Resort Tournament Director- PGA Apprentice

Dan Lorig is originally from Cleveland, OH and has been golfing since he was 8 years old. A natural athlete, Dan excelled in many sports, but spent most of his youth playing ice hockey. When a knee injury took away the possibility of playing college hockey, Dan decided to pursue a career in the golf industry. Dan also has vast experience in the food service/hospitality industry where he worked as a bartender and bar manager for several years in Cleveland. Aside from golf, Dan also has a great passion for music. He teaches guitar and also plays piano and the drums. He is also a die-hard Cleveland sports fan.

Dan spent 2 years in the pro shop at River Oaks Golf Plantation before joining the Barefoot Resort team in April of 2016. In December of 2015, he graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach. He is currently enrolled in the PGA apprenticeship program and also plans on pursuing a TPI certification. Dan’s experience in both the golf and hospitality industries paired with his high level of customer service have made him a great fit to the Resort pro shop staff.

Mark Mullery

Assistant Golf Professional

Mark is originally from Danville, PA. He attended Danville Area High School where he excelled in both baseball and golf. He enjoyed all sports as a kid and loved competition which is what ultimately drove Mark to choose the path he is on now; the road to a golf professional. Upon graduating high school, he moved to Myrtle Beach at the age of 17 to pursue his passion in golf and attended the Golf Acadmey of America. While at the Golf Academy, Mark played on the NCCGA National Team and made it to two National Championships. One in Glade Springs, West Virginia where his team took 4th in the nation and the other in Walt Disney, Florida where his team took 2nd in the nation. Mark graduated in December of 2016 with a players credential ribbon by having a plus 1.3 handicap along with an Associate’s Degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management. His excitement for the game and joy of learning about the industry while at the Golf Academy is what drove him to join the Barefoot family as an Assistant Golf Professional. He plans on working towards his Class A membership within the PGA and continue his career in the golf business.

Josh Cardin

Assistant Golf Professional

Josh Cardin was raised in Levittown Pennsylvania and attended Temple University in Philadelphia where he competed on the Track and Field team.  After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in education he spent a short time teaching in the Philadelphia area before joining the United States Army.  He spent six years on active duty as an officer in the Military Police corps and after leaving the military, he moved to the Myrtle Beach area.  Following his passion for athletics and competition he chose to pursue a career in the golf industry.  He started working at Barefoot in May on 2018 and with a passion for learning and self-improvement he hopes to gain experience and progress as far as he can within the Barefoot organization and golf industry.

Vince Gallam

Assistant Golf Professional

Vince was originally born and raised in Cleveland Ohio.  At an early age he played competitive baseball and spent most of his summers on the islands.  Vince graduated the Professional Golfers Career College in Orlando Florida with a degree in Golf Management.  From Florida he traveled and gained valuable experience in public, private, and exclusive resort operations from the Rocky Mountains to the coast of California.  While enrolled in the PGA in Northern California he ran a variety of successful golf clinics and lessons. Vince is passionate for competitive golf, the outdoors, back-country skiing, and good times.  His experience in the Hospitality Industry, his ambition for PGA membership, and his travels coast to coast make him a great addition to the Barefoot Family.

PGA – Chris Knevel

First Assistant Golf Professional – The Dye Club

Chris, a Class A PGA professional, was born near Cleveland, OH. His father, Mark introduced him to the game of golf at a young age. Chris played many sports growing up but stuck with baseball and soccer throughout school. After graduating from Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio he decided to pursue a career in golf. He attended the Golf Academy of America where he graduated at the top of his class. From there Chris worked at Barefoot Resort and Golf, Westwood Country Club, and is now enjoying his employment at The Dye Club. Chris has a passion for teaching and growing the game of golf.

Rob Cressman

Assistant Golf Professional & Tournament Director – The Dye Club

Rob is originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island.  Growing up he played baseball, basketball and golf.  After high school he attended Coastal Carolina University and was in the PGM Golf Management Program.  During his time there he completed three three-month internships at The Misquamicut Club (RI), Newport Country Club (RI) and Country Club of New Canaan (CT) working both outside and inside services.  While attending CCU he also worked at the Hackler Golf Course on campus. Before joining the Barefoot team, he was the first assistant golf professional at The Country Club of South Carolina. Rob is currently a Level 3 PGA Associate and on his way to becoming a class A PGA Professional.

Justin Lewis

Justin, a South Carolina native has been a golf enthusiast from a young age. He proudly pursued his love for the game and graduated from the Golf Academy of America Myrtle Beach campus. Justin’s passion for playing and instructing golf is readily evident throughout his interactions with fellow golfers, colleagues and members. Time spent on the course and with loved ones, joyfully remains at the forefront of Justin’s life.

Dave Bennett is originally from Waverly, N.Y. where he grew up as a competitive athlete and sports enthusiast. Prior to joining the Barefoot team he was an Executive Chef in several high profile and distinguished restaurants. Dave’s goals are to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction by anticipating guests’ needs and providing accomplished food and beverage preparation, presentation and service for a variety of events.

Molly Brooks

Food and Beverage Manager – Dye Club

Molly is originally from the midwest city of Peoria, IL. After high school, she attended West Virginia University where she studied Business Marketing. She has been working in the Food and Beverage industry since 2008, gaining knowledge in all aspects of the hospitality field along the way. Molly has enjoyed bringing her skills and creativity to the Dye Clubhouse. She strives to always provide excellent customer service whether she is working in the restaurant or planning special events.

Ginger is originally from Myrtle Beach SC, one of the only locals on our staff. She has been with Barefoot since 2003. Always calm, cool and collected, Ginger is one of our most efficient and reliable team members. Away from Barefoot Ginger loves spending time and caring for her two beautiful sons.
